ambition abandoned

this is why i won't have my scheme figured out for studio tomorrow....
i decided to make some sushi

i found 5 rolls of film which i finally developed. some photos were from 3 years ago! i've been feeling uninspired lately. this is a nice respite from that.

today was a better day. teaching wasn't frustrating, and i caught the electric guy on my way back home. i now have all my utilities on, and will stay on as far as i know. my friend jennie did something and apparently the most common word used on my website is work. what can i say, story of my life. but today was better, so here's my adorable nephew and my grandma from a wedding this past weekend.

so yea, I'm back at school, ha, for better or for worse. but it's fine because for the most part i don't have much to complain about. I have the classes I want, which i am quite excited for, and i get to ta for frosh studio. so i'm busy working but the work is promising. anyways. junior year spring was promising as well but my project never really got the closure it needed. and my project from this summer... also trying to resolve the same issues... which is due on monday.... will it reach the same fate!?

review is saturday at noon. and it's not like we have three and a half days till then. we have lectures and calligraphy lessons thrown into our work time. like yesterday was summer palace, late lunch, calligraphy and ink wash lessons, and THEN we can start studio work... at 9 pm.

unfortunately, my non-existant building looks like a goldfish

anyways, so after having an extremely useless conversation with my professor, i was like screw this, i'm gonna go check out the inter milan vs lazio game at the birds nest. we didnt have tickets but we figured we could tailgate and buy jerseys and maybe watch from the outside. we found some tickets halfway through the second half, but it only got us in through one gate since the scalper was being sneaky and raised the prices after! instead of 7 for 200 rmb he said 1 for 300. but we grabbed it and ran. paid him for one and sent one guy in. then one father was leaving with his son and gave us his tickets. and then we bribed the gate keeper 50 rmb to let the last 4 in. so it averages out to 50rmb each which was definitely worth it. birds nest was PACKED. fans were crazy, and the last part of the game was pretty good.

so i get back and my professor replied to the project brief i sent him with this.

8 DAYS LEFT IN BEIJING. and i do plan on enjoying the game

so the professor left for the night, which means i can post without looking like i'm slacking!

its crunch time and  we have somehow create amazing things every second of the day, and it gets pretty tiring

word vomit:
the only picture i ever asked someone to take of me with my camera... got corrupted by my memory card! it was because when we found mr. softee in suzhou, i got a vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles, which is what my dad got for me all the time when he picked me up from elementary school.

today my professor meets with my partner and i, proceeds to get frustrated, calls a class pow wow, tells us how wrong we have been taught how to design, and how we should go on our intuition. after he is clearly done ranting, he's like why do you all look depressed! so i say, "we just want to get back to work"  okay we break up. the professor does not return to my partner and i, so i think oh, guess he's done talking to us. let me make a steal and drop off the laundry that has been sitting at my desk for two days! later i find out that he came by while i was gone, thinking i went to lunch, which is funny because i did say i wanted to work. whoops!

which is like the time my roommate and i got back to beijing, and she asks me if i'm gonna go to school and work, (this is at midnight btw) and i'm like "nah i have a mouse in the room, so i can just work there... (mice are crucial to cadding) and 5 min later shes like, "did you say we have a mouse in the room?" and i'm like "WHAT? NO! we have a mouse in the room!?" shes like "is that what you said?... and then i'm like... oh yea i did say that... lol no, not that kind of mouse.

and not that i have time, but since i have no facebook, blogspot, youtube, sexybeijing videos, ANYTHING, and i'm too lazy to use proxys, send some good reads my way. nytimes.com only keeps me entertained for so long. theybf.com is pretty entertaining too.what else!

and lastly! the guy on the boat looks that happy, because my friend is actually paddling and moving the entire boat. if you look closely, you can see the top of the oar in the guy directly to the left of the said happy guy. so he gets paid 120 rmb for minimal work! sweet. if someone paid me for all the work i do, i would be smiling too.... mmmm one can dream
